A reliable all-round service for extreme glass assembly
Heavydrive offers a one-stop service from planning to implementation
The sector is being faced with more and more challenges: structural elements are becoming larger and heavier, assembly is becoming more complicated and the logistics more complex. So Heavydrive GmbH is offering an all-round service. The experienced, professional team supports clients around the world throughout their projects – in the planning, development and implementation stages – whether they have large or small panes to fit, specific custom requirements, difficult construction conditions, extreme climate conditions or remote operation sites.
Assembly solutions customised for your project
A real-life example: For the construction of the new Mormon headquarters, glass panes measuring 3 metres wide and 10.7 metres high, and weighing 3.2 tonnes were able to be fitted, even under a 3 metre deep overhang. Not only that, but 10.7 metre high and 60 centimetre wide glass fins also needed to be fitted. Around a year before work commenced, the project manager got in touch with Guenter Uebelacker. “For large, international projects, intensive pre-planning is essential. The more detail we have and the earlier we know about the requirements and construction site conditions, the better we can develop an ideal and individual assembly solution”, says the Heavydrive managing director.
To get an idea of Heavydrive’s expertise, the project manager personally travelled to Germany. The team, in cooperation with the company Sedak GmbH & Co. KG, simulated the construction site conditions in the town of Gersthofen in a field test of the VSG 3500 K suction system used in combination with the VSG 7000 counterweight traverse, attached to a truck-mounted crane, with its capacity of 7 tonnes. The smooth presentation won the client over. Two weeks later Heavydrive GmbH had received the contract and planning could begin.
On this occasion, the company’s professional logistics system proved effective. The experienced Heavydrive team took care of all customs and freight documentation and packaged the devices safely. The three systems were shipped on time and, with no delays, succeeded in meeting their aim in Salt Lake City.
