Pane replacement on sloping façade

At the company building of Stern Metallbau GmbH, Heavydrive replaced a 220 kilogram (485 lbs) façade pane. The glass element had a width of 2300 millimetres (7.5 ft) and a height of 1500 millimetres (4.9 ft). The assignment was completed using the MRK 144.0 S mini crane and the 450 K vacuum suction system. The suction system has a load capacity of up to 450 kilograms (992 lbs) and can be rotated through 360 degrees and swivelled through 90 degrees.

The sloping façade on the Stern company building in Burtenbach, Bavaria, had an incline of 8.5 degrees. The top edge of the glass was at approx. 8000 millimetres (26.2 ft). Thanks to the mini crawler crane's basic hook height of 14.4 metres (47.2 ft), assembly was no problem with the crane positioned five to seven metres (16.4 to 23 ft) from the façade.
