Heavydrive supports successful implementation with its technical expertise

With the comprehensively modernised Beymen İstinyePark, Turkey’s leading luxury and lifestyle retailer is setting new standards in exclusive store design. Located in İstinyePark in Istanbul, the Beymen store, one of Turkey’s best-known luxury fashion brands, has been given a new façade featuring distinctive wave-shaped glass elements inspired by the Bosphorus, bringing together architecture, art and craftsmanship.

For the installation of the complex specialist glazing, Heavydrive not only provided the appropriate lifting equipment, but also supported the project with on-site technical expertise. A Heavydrive technician travelled to Istanbul for two days to provide equipment instruction and support the local specialists with the installation of the first glass elements. The local team then went on to install the remaining panes themselves.

A total of 34 double-curved glass panes were installed using the Heavydrive VSG 400 KR and VSG 1050 KRQ vacuum suction systems. The moulded glass panes, with a minimum radius of 415 millimetres (16.3 ft), weighed up to 350 kilograms (772 lbs). In addition, four large-format insulating panes were used for the ground-floor façade. Two of the S-shaped curved glass panels measure approximately 4.50 × 3.15 metres (14.8 × 10.3 ft) and each weighed around 800 kilograms (1,764 lbs).

Several specialist partners were involved in the implementation: Innobuild GmbH was responsible for the façade design. In addition, Ekolio Metal AŞ was also involved in the construction project. The glazing was handled by Innobuilt GmbH in collaboration with Döring Glas Berlin.
