Installation of steel steps using a Heavydrive mini crane

New steel steps, linking the quay wall to the banks of the Danube, have been installed at the Old Harbour in Donauwörth. Heavydrive delivered the MRK 86.0 spider crane to the construction site to ensure the precise handling of the steel elements right on the banks of the Danube. The customer, Metallbau Herrmann, then took over the crane operation, which had a maximum load capacity of 250 kilograms, enabling the steel steps to be installed reliably and efficiently.

The real challenge lay in the cramped working conditions right by the harbour basin. The individual elements had to be securely lifted, moved and positioned with extreme precision. Thanks to its compact design, the MRK 86.0 could be positioned directly along the quay edge, allowing for precise and controlled material handling throughout the installation process.

The MRK 86.0 has also been used in the past at another location along the promenade in Donauwörth. Heavydrive used its compact mini crane to assist with the installation of several lamp posts. With the installation of the new steps, Heavydrive is once again building on the success of a previous project at this location.
