Installation of curved façade pieces in Cannes

Just in time for the 74th Cannes Film Festival, the JW Marriott Hotel opened on the Boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes. The hotel was expanded, renovated and given a spectacular entrance area made of curved façade panes. The glass pieces from the Italian façade company Frener & Reifer were installed using Heavydrive special systems for curved glass panes.

To ensure smooth installation of the curved glass façade pieces, Heavydrive organised a test run at the façade manufacturer's headquarters in Brixen. The glass panes, weighing up to 490 k, were installed using the 7-axis manipulator. The Heavydrive manipulator was mounted simply by driving an indoor or off-road telescopic forklift into the fork shoes provided. The glass panes could then be suctioned in concavely and set in position with millimetre precision by remote control.
