Heavydrive HGV fleet expanded
The demand for increasingly complex assembly solutions, as well as for special equipment for handling large panes, is on the rise. The situation also calls for larger shipping volumes. For this reason, the Bavarian transport and assembly specialist Heavydrive has expanded its fleet by one new truck with a capacity of 20 tonnes.
Heavydrive systems are often used on the customer’s site for just one day. Nonetheless, a lot of equipment is needed in order to be prepared for anything. Transport with 2-3 cranes, 2-3 suction systems as well as manipulators, glass trolleys and accessories are not uncommon.
The truck has space for a number of large and small systems. Loading and unloading is now much faster. Heavydrive trucks can be loaded from the rear, from the top and from the side. The folding ramp makes it easy to drive up or raise the equipment in one movement. Fully accessible, the ramp allows installation engineers to safely load the equipment even from tight angles.
"Our orders often come at very short notice. In order to be able to act quickly, we need a sophisticated logistics strategy and the transport capacities this requires. This is why we need to keep expanding our vehicle fleet at all costs”, explains Günter Übelacker, Managing Director of Heavydrive. The Heavydrive fleet at the main warehouse in Tapfheim currently consists of four trucks and six vans, plus several trailers. Another benefit: All vehicles are regularly serviced in the company’s own workshop and are therefore always in perfect working order. Experienced Heavydrive equipment operators usually drive the transport vehicles as well, something that can save the customer further costs.
Smooth, fast and safe transport of the systems to the construction sites throughout Europe is a matter of course for Heavydrive. From planning to the optimal equipment solution all the way through to delivery, the customer gets everything from a single source. This guarantees efficient processes and superb reliability.
