Heavydrive develops weaving facilitator for the installation of large, heavy glass panes

 

When large, heavy glass elements are set without a counterweight beam, the glass pane always hangs askew with its bottom edge tilted way out of the installation opening.

As a result, it takes several people to push at the bottom edge to get the pane into the installation opening against its own weight.

A time-consuming and risky business, especially if the installation engineers are standing on a lifting platform.

Heavydrive has developed a brilliant solution to this problem.

The suspensions of the suction systems are designed in such a way that the crane hook pick-up arm has a negative angle above the dead centre of the inclination.

The glass element is suctioned on, raised and tilted forwards slightly.

Despite the negative angle, the crane hook avoids striking the pane.

Hanging in the vertical position, the glass element can be lowered down to the bottom edge of the installation opening and weaved in at the top with minimum manual effort.

This saves time and manpower and ensures more safety during installation.
