Heavydrive at the 2026 Glass Congress at the Haydau Monastery
Focus on knowledge sharing, future-oriented topics and networking
The latest industry trends, technological developments and one-on-one discussions were the focus of this year's Glass Congress at Haydau Monastery in the Hessian municipality of Morschen. Alongside expert presentations, networking formats and evening events, Heavydrive attended with its own stand as a trusted partner for modern installation and lifting technology in the glass and façade sector.
As a supporting member of the "Supporters of the Glass Industry" initiative, Heavydrive supports the industry's ongoing progress. Through innovative lifting and installation technology, the company enables the safe transport and installation of increasingly large and heavy glass panels, providing the technical foundation for the architectural and façade solutions of the future.
The Glass Congress is regarded as one of the most important industry events in the German glass and façade sector. Every year, representatives from industry, the skilled trades, architecture, planning and the supply sector gather there to discuss the latest developments, challenges and future issues facing the sector. The conference is organised by the Bundesverband Flachglas e.V. [German Flat Glass Association] and other partners in the glass industry.
At the start, Hans-Joachim Arnold (Managing Director of Arnold Glas) and Jochen Grönegräs (Managing Director of the Flat Glass Association) warmly welcomed all those present. The presentation program covered topics including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, sustainability, glass reuse, Generation Z, and the future of the window and façade industry. The agenda also included the presentation of the Sustainability Award. Presented for the second time at the 2026 Glass Congress, the award recognises those companies that are making an active contribution to greater sustainability in the flat glass industry through concrete measures and innovative approaches. Among the award-winning companies were HEGLA GmbH & Co. KG and LiSEC Austria GmbH, which were recognised for their solutions for the sustainable recycling of insulating glass. The award also highlighted Swisspacer and Technoform GmbH with its special prizes. The awards recognised their innovative systems, which make a significant contribution to the circular economy through the use of recycled materials and the recycling of production waste.
As well as the specialist content, the conference offered numerous opportunities for personal discussion. Events such as the group morning run, the "Walk & Talk" on the monastery grounds and the evening events provided opportunities for conversation outside the official programme. This provided Heavydrive with valuable opportunities to share ideas with numerous experts and decision-makers from the glass and façade industry, including Michael Elstner, co-managing director of the Bundesverband Flachglas e.V. and representative of ift Rosenheim [CoC Rosenheim], Stefan Goeddertz of Herzog & de Meuron, Basel; Hans-Joachim Arnold, Managing Director of Arnold Glas; Carsten Fuchs; Dr Winfried Häusler, Managing Director of HEGLA; and Dr Jan Schäpers.
