Heavydrive assembles "iconic skin" façade system by seele

Ever larger façade elements require powerful

With its product line of heavy suction systems with a bearing load of up to 5,000 kg, Heavydrive GmbH offers versatile assembly units for placing extremely heavy façade elements. With this, the Donauwoerth-based company is responding to the rising demand forhigh-performance suction and lifting systems.

The requirements on building shells are subject to constant change. For reasons of cost and time, more and more manufacturers rely on large-scale façade elements.

The new generation of glass façades

With its "iconic skin" façade system, seele has developed an innovative and cost-effective solution. The certified system combines functional and economical benefits. The up to 15 metres high and 3.2 metres wide façade elements can be designed according to customer needs, with customised formats, transparency and prints. Transparent and opaque areas can be arranged freely within the panels. Complete façades can be built with iconic skin.

Strong assembly aids for heavy façade elements

The façade elements feature excellent thermal and sound insulation values, earning iconic skin SCF the moniker of 'glass wall'. The SCF ventilation system of the façade elements is based on thermodynamic laws and was tested by the Fraunhofer Institute. The SCF principle ensures pressure and humidity equalisation. In the cavities between the panes, the desired sun blinds can be attached. With opening elements or different print options, iconic skin offers a multitude of design possibilities.

On the occasion of the BAU 2015 fair, seele presented its system in different versions. Assembly of the elements, up to eight metres in height, was done by the Donauwoerth-based company Heavydrive GmbH. With the MRK 86.0 miniature crane in combination with the VSG 450 KL 6  vacuum suction system, the exhibits could be lifted to their position at the trade fair booth in no time. The special challenge in setting up the booth was the limited space due to the high number of exhibitors squeezed together and the tight schedule.

The assembly expert for extremely large and heavy panes

Complete façade elements are getting heavier and larger. Elements with a weight of two, three or four tonnes are no longer an exception. To meet these new requirements, Heavydrive GmbH has developed its product line of heavy suction systems with a bearing load of up to 5,000 kg.

Correspondingly, the company also offers the matching heavy lifting equipment. 'The heavy elements and panes have to be placed absolutely accurately and safely. To achieve this, we have a crane with an adaptable 3-axle manipulator in stock. With a counterweight system on a building or truck-mounted crane, we can provide you with easily adaptable suction units suitable for weights of 1,000 kg and up', explains managing director Guenter Uebelacker.

The heavy systems can be rented in different versions, with or without an operator. Thanks to the well-equipped vehicle fleet and the elaborate Heavydrive logistics system, the units are ready for use on the construction site within twelve hours. From our warehouse, the different suction systems with a bearing load of 2,500 to 5,000 kg can be dispatched overnight.
