Curved pane replaced under a projection in Ebeltoft (Denmark)

The Heavydrive team travelled to the Jutland peninsula of Djursland to replace a curved pane of glass at the headquarters of Danish textile manufacturer Kvadrat in Ebeltoft. The Kvadrat Forum consists of two round buildings – the entrance area and the main building. The installation point was at the junction of the round buildings. This meant that the glass element, measuring 3.5 x 1.5 metres and weighing 500 kilograms, had to be placed under a barely accessible projection. And because the working radius was tiny, the pane had to be guided very slowly and extremely carefully.

The Heavydrive MRK 86.0 assembly crane was used in combination with the VSG 500 KR vacuum suction system. The compact mini crane has a long heavy-duty tip that enables safe assembly below a projection. The vacuum suction system with a load capacity of up to 500 kilograms was developed specifically for convex and concave panes and safely suctioned in the curved glass element. The old façade glass had been removed and the new glass accurately placed in the window opening in just three hours. The customer was the Danish assembly company Struer Facader.
