Heavydrive uses sloping facade for new GEDA headquarters
Precision assembly under difficult conditions:
In 2024, GEDA GmbH opened its new headquarters in Asbach-Bäumenheim, Swabia – a modern building that sets high standards in terms of both architecture and technology. The new corporate headquarters was designed by the Kandler architectural firm, which opted for a striking façade design. A particular highlight is a sloping facade that had to be precisely installed under a 15° overhang.
We were commissioned by Heavydrive to carry out this challenging task. Thanks to our specialized installation technology and years of experience in handling heavy glass elements, we were able to complete the project safely and efficiently.
The facade elements were between 1,350 and 1,520 mm long, between 3,290 and 3,500 mm high, and weighed up to 500 kg. Access to the installation area was limited, and the slope of the facade made it even more difficult to position the glass elements precisely. The Heavydrive VSG 1000 K MH suction system was used for this purpose, combined with the VSG Konter 1000 counter crossbeam and an SWS 35 ET quick-change system.
The combination of these devices enabled the heavy glass elements to be lifted under the projection with millimeter precision, despite the sloping facade.
