Heavydrive sets 200 kilo glass panes overhead
A new, modern cultural and office complex is opening in Bielsko-Biala, Poland. The Heavydrive 7-axis manipulator was used to assemble the 200-kilo façade elements, which had to be placed overhead in different positions on the spherical part of the building.
The Heavydrive VSG STU 400 KMH was used in combination with the Manitou MRT 2540 telehandler. A single operator could move the Heavydrive manipulator in seven axes by radio remote control. The installation of the 2,000-2,300 millimeter wide and 1,000-1,600 millimeter high glass panes in the lower part of the spherical building went smoothly. The façade elements in the overhang had to be placed with a horizontal and vertical incline. Installation was completed on time within ten days.
Cavatina Hall on Dworkowa Street in Bielsko-Biała consists of two buildings with a total area of 11,420 square meters. The multifunctional complex combines work and culture. Modern offices are available on almost 9,000 square meters in the Staircase building. The spherical dome part of the building serves as a concert and culture hall. Depending on the incidence of light, the Cavatina Hall changes its appearance with its facade elements in different shapes and sizes.
