Glass pane assembly for the football champions

Real Madrid is getting a new headquarters! The successful football club’s head office is an impressive architectural achievement. Tapfheim-based Heavydrive GmbH was contacted to glaze the façades.

The futuristic build was designed by renowned architects firm Rafael de la-Hoz. The building has a puristic but unusual shape, made up of two large cubes that complement each other perfectly. Large glass façades on every side flood all of the workspaces with light.

Heavydrive’s expertise was called upon for the assembly of the glass elements. The VSG 3500 K MH vacuum suction system was used with the VSG 3000 K counterweight traverse to install the 8.5m long and 3.2m high panes, weighing a vast 1.6 tonnes, perfectly into the framework. The equipment operators controlled the devices remotely, allowing the panes to be installed quickly and safely and to the millimetre. The team also installed six lighter panes between the large elements.

In total, Heavydrive GmbH installed 18 panes in the new Real Madrid headquarters. The lifting and transportation specialists delivered the relevant equipment and experienced operators on schedule. The building will open in the middle of 2018.
